During the minor Sports and Exercise Nutrition the nutritionist learns to develop, execute, evaluate and adjust a sports nutrition policy (plan) to improve sports performance of a sports team (and individual athletes).

To develop a good sports nutrition policy plan students have to analyze the organization, the physiological demands of the sports, the current nutritional behavior, and the factors that positively and negatively affect nutritional behavior of the sports team/organization.

Based on this analysis and sports nutrition policy (plan) students can select, develop, execute, evaluate and adjust counselling, education and coaching strategies to cause a sustainable change in the nutritional behavior to improve sports performance.

During this exchange course you will benefit from the expertise of lecturers who work or have worked with elite athletes at the highest level.

You will learn how to inform and guide individual athletes about sports nutrition. You will also learn how to design and run group interventions for athletes. The interventions will advise athletes about sports nutrition and helps athletes to adjust their eating habits.
