- For minors starting in September, after the registration period in March, a draw takes place in April if there are at that time more subscribers than available places.
- For minors starting in February, after the registration period in October, a draw takes place in November if there are at that time more subscribers than available places.
For the minors with places still available applies until the closing of the subscription period: Once a minor is full, it is closed!
In addition, if the number of subscribers after four weeks is below the norm; this minor may possibly be withdrawn. So if you are interested, sign up immediately!

During the minor Sports Nutrition the nutritionist learns to develop, execute, evaluate and adjust (sports) nutrition interventions to improve sports performance of a sports team and individual athletes.
To develop (sports) nutrition interventions students have to analyze the organization, the physiological demands of the sports, the current nutritional intake and the factors that positively and negatively affect nutritional behavior.
Based on this analysis students can select, develop, execute, evaluate and adjust counselling, education and coaching strategies to cause a sustainable change in the nutritional behavior to improve sports performance.
During this exchange course you will benefit from the expertise of lecturers who work or have worked with elite athletes.

Type of exchange course
A block course is offered once or twice a year in a block during a semester.
A specialisation course enables you to further deepen your skills and knowledge within the professional profile of your current study program.

Design and execute group interventions for athletes about sports nutrition.

Coach individuals on sports nutrition .

Entry requirements
An exchange course will be of most benefit to you if it complements your study and/or your professional profile, is at an appropriate level and does not overlap with your major.
For whom?
You are in possession of a completed propaedeutic year, propaedeutic year certificate!
Students following a study in one of the following areas:

- Human movement science
- Nutrition & dietetics
- Physiotherapy

- Sport & health management

Admission requirements
- Good English reading ability.
- Sufficient English speaking ability.
- Completed your first year at university or university of Applied sciences.
- Knowledge of research or evidence-based methods.
- 'Internship' location required for minor assignments in the field
Examination
During the minor sports nutrition you will analyze the current nutritional policy of a sports organization/sports team. You will also make a physiological and nutritional analysis and you will determine which factors positively and negatively affect nutritional behaviour. Based on this you have to make, execute and evaluate several suiting (sports)nutritional interventions. Further you also have to give nutritional advice to an individual athlete. There are several smaller assignments during the semester which you have to combine in a portfolio. Finally you also have several knowledge tests.

- Portfolio assignments

Schedule
Lectures and tutorials are organized on 2 days. Sometimes there will be a practical session, guestlecture or fieldtrip organized on another day in the week. So keep in mind that there are 3 days in which classes can be organized. This means that on the other days you have to work on your products and study for the knowledge tests.
